Rumor: White Wii U basic pack come back home from retailers (Nintendo recalling)

Nintendo could be preparing a new pack for Wii U. They have sent a memo with specific details to the retailers. Nintendo are to recall any White Wii U Basic Pack from the shops.

Kotaku have had access to the internal memo sent to the shops and commercial distributors, which reads:

Nintendo Wii U Basic Recall – Two Week Preparation On Tuesday, 6/18, all stories will need to return all new/unopened Wii U Basic (020359). .. Stores that have 10 or more in stock will receive shipping cartons from the [distribution center]. .. All other stores will need to save shipping cartons for this recall.

Therefore, Nintendo would refurbish their Wii U Basis Packs with new content, albeit we don’t know exactly anything about Nintendo plans, they could use these White Wii U with a small HDD capacity to incorporate them in a new White Wii U Deluxe Pack (announced some days ago for Japan). So, expect the same version of the console with a large HDD capacity (32GB) and maybe more further content in a new pack for the summer. I guess it’s the Nintendo idea.

To sum up Nintendo would recall the Basic Wii U model for the market and they will sell just one model, available in two different colors, white or black with the same HDD capacity.

Thanks, Nintendo Insider.
