The start of the year looks promising as 2020 can be special in so many aspects for video games admirers. We’ve created a list of the games you should definitely play this year. We’ll witness the new generation of consoles from both Microsoft and Sony this year, while cloud gaming is about to reach its full potential. The fans around the world will be able to enjoy long-awaited remakes as a consequence. Anyhow, let’s move to the list. More and more betting sites are now also offering opportunities to place bets on Esports and also to watch tournaments in live streaming such is the popularity of some gaming tournaments.

Bleeding Edge

The game created by Ninja Theory will be released in late-March. There are plenty of reasons to expect Bleeding Edge to make a huge boom on the market. The blend of Overwatch and Power Stone looks quite exciting, while the British developers already proved themselves for incredible abilities.

Reportedly, the players will be able to choose between 12 characters, most of whom have meele attacks. The characters can be put in three categories:

  • Damage
  • Support
  • Tank

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Project RED’s RPG is probably the most anticipated game in 2020. This comes natural if we know the game creators stood behind the titles such as The Witcher 3. Furthermore, one of the most famous actors, Keanu Reeves, will have his character in the game. The release day was pushed from April to September 17th as the company needs more time to perform the last tests.

Each of Cyberpunk’s quests will be handcrafted. Players will be able to customize their character’s hair, clothing, and tattoos. What we found particularly interesting is that you will be able to finish the game without even killing anyone. You’ll have plenty of ways to kill your enemies, but also to choke them, out them down to sleep, etc.

The whole gaming world was shocked to see Keanu Reeves in the game trailer last year. The famous actor will be playing Johnny Silverhand, a character everyone who has played Cyberpunk tabletop will recognize.

The whole theme takes place in Night City, a fictional city between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The place is enormous, featuring six distinct districts. Finally, we are thrilled to confirm the game will have a multiplayer. Even though there is plenty to discuss about the gameplay itself, we’ll leave it there and wait for September.

Carrion

Carrion is a reverse-horror game where you hunt doomed captors instead of running away from the monster. Such a distinction to the standardized horror games makes Phobia Game Studi’s creation so attractive to players across the globe. If you’ve never previously played a game with a similar theme, the feeling you will get while slinking through tunnels and chasing the victims will leave you speechless.

Your character grows by eating humans alive. As you move on, you constantly receive new powers. The gameplay is packed with action with so many options you have at disposal to hurt people. We can’t wait to get our hands on the evil Metroidvania game.

Dark Alliance

At first glance, we thought Dark Alliance would be a casual Dungeons and Dragons title, but the 2019 trailer left a completely different impression. Combining the violent horror with fantasy elements, the Dark Alliance promises intimate, bloody, and visceral experience. The game is expected to be much more action-packed rather than strategic.

The game takes place in the same world as Dungeons and Dragons. There are rumours the plot will follow The Icewind Dale Trilogy as Drizzt Do’Urden, Catti-Brie, and Bruenor Battlehammer are the main characters. The timeline is set far in the past, another difference when we compare the game to the Dungeons & Dragons.

There are no official release dates, but we can expect the game to land somewhere around September/October 2020.  The game will be available in multiplayer, up to four players.

Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal entered the market through small doors as nobody expected the game to deliver much back when it was initially released in 2016. Nonetheless, it well confounded the expectations proving out to be one of the games that marked the whole year. It will be very interesting to see how its sequel will perform now when everyone has sky-high expectations.

There is much to be excited about ahead of the release in late-March 2020. The game promises to be more frenetic and much faster featuring the identical unnamed marine. The popular “Doom Slayer” is about to fight the forces of hell on our very own planet.

The combat includes much more verticality than the 2016 edition.  The game developers have already stated this was their best game yet. The main purpose is to keep the spirit of the original game alive yet provide the players with guns and throw an army of demons at them. The game will no doubts be liked by many.

Dying Light 2

Much like the case was with the previous game in the list, very few people had great expectations when the Dying Light popped up. Nonetheless, its parkour gameplay, strong plot, and large levels contributed all to a magnificent piece that took most players’ attention back at the time. Get ready to experience the zombie ass-kicking at the even higher level this spring as the game’s second edition is about to be released somewhere around April 2020.

The plot takes place 15 years after the original game. You can expect to see a part of human society existing, but the tribes will have to attack and kill each other in the battle for resources and territory. The zombies are, nonetheless, still the greatest threat in the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

One of the best JRPGs of all time is about to make a glorious return in April 2020. Final Fantasy 7 Remake promises an epic experience according to everything we’ve seen so far. The Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura announced certain changes to the story. Cloud Strife and friends will still battle Sephiroth and Shinra Corporation, but we will see some tweaks to the plot. Based on Shinra’s look in the trailer, we have reasons to expect chaos and terror all over the place.
