The Wall Street Journal, after its original report from October 2018, claims that Nintendo will release two new versions of Switch as early as summer.

According to this new WSJ report, one version will be an ‘enhanced’ version of the original Nintendo Switch, aimed for “pro” gamers. It won’t be as powerful as PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X, but the path followed by this model will be similar. The WSJ says that “parts suppliers and software developers for Nintendo who have early access to a prototype of the machine.”

The other model could be targeting casual gamers and it would be a cheaper model aimed to replace the gap left by Nintendo 3DS. Its nature would be, essentially, portable.

In any case, these two new Nintendo Switch models would have quite different designs comparing them to the original model.

Stay tuned.
