This week, a new trademark has appeared in the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) registered the name “Corpse Run” in class 9 (games) and 41 (online games).
As you know, Sony Online Entertainment is the developer of some popular MMO‘s like Everquest or the recently announced H1Z1. which will debut on PC and PlayStation 4. In fact, Corpse Run could be related to H1Z1, maybe an expansion, although it sounds strange since H1Z1 has not been released yet.

Another possibility could be SOE’s intention to register the term itself. “Corpse Run” is part of the MMORPG vocabulary and indicates a situation in which players have to “run” to their corpse either to revive themselves or to recover their equipment before it’s looted.
