Back in 2009 From Software surprised everybody with Demon’s Souls. From Software developed the game and Sony owned the IP so the game was, obviously, exclusive for Playstation 3 . The title was a sleep hit acclaimed by critics and gamers.
Two years later, From Software developed a spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls: Dark Souls. This time the IP was not in Sony’s hands and the title was released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Now, the name of Demon’s Souls is appearing all over the internet.
This week, CDON, a Swedish retail store, listed the sequel of Demon’s Souls for Playstation 4.
It could be a simple mistake, but the interesting thing here is that Demon’s Souls 2 has been “hinted” for a while by some NeoGAF insiders and by Hideiko Yoshida (Sony Worldwide Studios head).
That’s a great question, but because of the attention that will get, I choose not to answer,” Yoshida told Polygon when asked about a possible sequel.
“But personally, I love Demon’s Souls. I spent hours and hours and hours [playing it].
“I love the team, I love the game and yeah, I’d really like to see more. But that’s all that I will say.”
