Recently, Activision opened a teaser site for the next generation Call of Duty game developed by Sledgehammer Games. The page, apparently, only shows a blurred out picture, but it also features four small white dots hidden by the blur of the picture.
These dots link to different sites, all including articles focusing on private military companies:
- Wikipedia: Private Military Company
- Business Insider: The Private Military Contractor Industry Is Reinventing Itself After The Demise Of Blackwater
- New York Times: Mercenaries and Private Military Companies
The fourth link goes directly to Youtube, where Activision has published today a video titled “Call of Duty® – Superpower For Hire“. Take a look:
As you can see, the word PMC (Private Military Company) seems to be the central axis of Call of Duty: Blacksmith.
Of course, take this as a rumour until the Call Of Duty 2014 reveal day, May 4th.
Furthermore, GameInformer has revealed the first in-game screenshot:
This Sunday at 12:00 PM Central time (10:00 AM Pacific) GameInformer will also reveal the cover image and the first details on the game including the name.
Stay tuned!
