Sony is on the right track with PS Plus. This service offers games, discounts, etc. with a membership. If you join the service, you will download 14 instant games on PS3 and PS Vita at the same moment you will become a member (without additional cost). The price is fair for all this content.
Online services could be different on PS4. Yoshida hinted a scaled service for the new Sony’s console:
We could have gold, silver or platinum levels of membership, something like that. We can do subscription services when we have more content – especially now that we have the Gaikai technology available. With one subscription you have access to thousands of games – that’s our dream.
If this quote comes true, Sony could integrate and expand its online services in three categories:
- Silver: Free membership. Free online play.
- Gold: PS Plus without Gaikai cloud gaming service. I guess keeping the price for a PS Plus membership.
- Platinum: PS Plus + Gaikai. Top service.
I am guessing that, we haven’t still got an official confirmation.
Thanks, Videogamer.
