For months, we have been hearing rumors about a supposed new DLC for the veteran The Witcher 3 (CD Projekt RED, 2015). We have tiptoed around them all this time because, a priori, and without a very, very reliable source, it seemed strange.
I mean, a new DLC for a game that was released 10 years ago, with CD Projekt managing its resources very carefully for The Witcher 4 and its spin-offs/remakes after all the problems with Cyberpunk 2077? It seemed strange to us, to say the least.
But little by little, more and more sources are coming out about this DLC for The Witcher 3, which, of course, we would love to see happen.
The latest rumours come from, among others, a Polish Noble Securities Analyst, who in the past correctly predicted the estimated release date for The Witcher 4, and who has now commented that this new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be released in May 2026.
According to Mateusz Chrzanowski, the analyst, this new material is being developed by Fool’s Theory, who are in charge of the remake of The Witcher 1, and would serve as a good link (and good marketing) between The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 4. This information comes from Eurogamer, which echoed this news, perhaps suspecting that this is really happening.
In fact, Eurogamer itself also went to the original source of the rumour in June 2025, Borys Nieśpielak, who at the time commented that the news had been confirmed by multiple independent sources.
In addition, Nieśpielak commented that CD Projekt RED also dropped hints about this in a recent earnings call.
Given our current progress, there is a chance that new content hinted at in recent calls and reports may see release in the coming year.
But there’s more: in light of all this supposed evidence, IGN Poland has decided to speak out and comment that they have known about the existence of this DLC for some time, and that they know details. Very interesting details.
They say that the expansion will take us to Zerrikania, at the eastern end of The Witcher 3 map, and that it will be an exotic, desert-like area ‘à la Dune’.
That said, it seems that there were already hints about a Zerrikanian manticore school in the previous expansion, Blood and Wine, as well as references to the region made by other characters.
Let’s not forget that the Zerrikania school also appears in The Witcher board game.
Are you getting excited? We are a little, because of all these details and the enigmatic comment made by CD Projekt in its earnings call…
Stay tuned!
