Square-Enix never said anything about localizing some of the latest Dragon Quest games such as the remake of Dragon Quest VII for Nintendo 3DS, Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D (also for 3DS), or Dragon Quest X for Wii, WiiU and PC.
That is a real shame considering the legion of fans this saga has always had in the western territories.
However, this might change in the future. Siliconera discovered two trademarks by Square Enix for Luminaries of the Legendary Line and The Seeds of Salvation that may refer to Dragon Quest. According to the site, these titles fit the pattern of alliteration seen in Dragon Quest 4: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest 5: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Dragon Quest 6: Realms of Revelation and Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.
Square-Enix filed the trademarks in Japan, but the text is in English. Sometimes the company acts like this when a product is planned to be released in the west.
Stay tuned for more info. Maybe we are about to see more localised Dragon Quest games. I really hope so.
Thanks Siliconera & VG247.
