We missed a stronger presence of Nintendo at E3 2016, but The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild stole my attention. A new dawn for the franchise is coming and maybe for Nintendo if we consider as legit some rumors published in the last days.
NX, the new generation Nintendo’s system, could be playable at EGX 2016 (September 22nd to September 25th. An official survey has been published asking about the most anticipated platform to be at EGX 16 for everyone that will attend the event. NX appears between different options.
So, Will Nintendo bring NX to EXG 16?
A gaffer, probably a Sherlock Holmes fan, has done a brilliant discovery researching the US trademark system. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is described as a “video game cartridge” in the Goods and Services section (alongside other considerations). Ever Oasis, the new action-RPG IP for 3DS, is described under the same terms, but Wii U games like Captain Toad and The Wonderful 101 are not defined with that concrete definition.
This discovery points out that NX could use cartridges. Could be strange, but this point was rumored some months ago.
Thanks, Attack of the Fanboy & NeoGAF.
