The remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag has been rumored for quite some time, since early 2024 to be precise. Through reliable sources, such as insider-gaming and Tom Henderson, we have always taken the rumor that Black Flag will have a remake as true.

Last year, Yves Guillemot confirmed that there were AC remakes in development. This is no surprise. But the game may be close to its release. AC Shadows will be released in March, so AC Black Flag Remake could be released by the end of the year.

“Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich. Secondly, to answer your question, there will be plenty of experience variety. The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’re going to surprise people, I think”

In the meantime, new details seem to be emerging.

In terms of looks, the remake of AC Black Flag looks set to surprise us for the better, as it is being developed under the latest version of the Anvil Engine (AnvilNext 3.0, maybe?).

Remember that Ubisoft is very good at developing in-house engines, like SnowDrop (Avatar).

According to the latest information, the latest Anivel Engine will make the game look like a true, and actual, triple AAA. And, to be honest, the environment where Black Flag takes place, along with its naval battles, makes us want to see the first footage of the game.

In terms of gameplay, there will be new systems and mechanics. The game has made quite a few changes to its core, and in particular, it seems that the emphasis has been placed on the battle system and the wildlife and environment system.

So, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake will be much more than a graphical update. It will be a big technical update and also wants to surprise in gameplay compared to the original game.

Stay tuned.
