As we have said in the past, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster is real, and its release is closer by far. And it seems that, after a lot of evidence about its development (even from former Virtuos developers), Oblivion remaster is already here.
Jeff Grubb said it recently: The game could be released next week, and the news from today confirms it.
The first screenshots of the game have been leaked, along with the systems on which Oblivion remaster will be released.
The info comes directly from the developer website, Virtuos, and shows both promotional images and comparisons between the original game with this remaster.
The official title of the game is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
The game will be released this month, possibly next week, on PC, Xbox X Series X|S (Game Pass), and PlayStation 5. Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville have been collaborating alongside Virtuos on the development.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion features an updated graphical style (presumably running under Unreal Engine 5), along with new and improved mechanics.
According to MP1ST, these are some of the changes and improvements to the mechanics:
“The stamina system was modified to be less frustrating for the player, making the knockdown that occurs when stamina is depleted more difficult to activate through changes in calculation methods.”
“The HUD was changed to make it easier to understand and more aesthetically appealing to young players. Hit reactions were also added to improve the response to damage inflicted on the player and NPCs. Finally, Archery was improved to make it more playable and modern in both third and first-person viewpoints.”
There will also be a Deluxe Edition, which will include new weapons and horse armor.
