The last chapter in the Resident Evil saga was launched more than a year ago with the release of Resident Evil 4, the remake. That’s a lot of time for Capcom and for us, we want new Biohazard experiences.
The last week different sources claimed that Capcom were working on new remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica, and of course, Resident Evil 9 that was internally pushed to late 2025 or early 2026. PlayAsia published different placeholders for three Resident Evils:
- Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows. Described as “Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows is the latest instalment in the iconic survival horror series by Capcom. This game continues the chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces. Set in an expansive, terrifying world filled with new threats and mysteries, Revenant Shadows blends intense action, intricate puzzles, and the atmospheric dread that fans have come to love.”
- Resident Evil 5 on PS5. Described as “new technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil”. So, we should expect something different than a plain remaster according to the description.
- Resident Evil Code Veronica and RE Zero. The Zero game was labelled as an “HD Remaster”, but it’s unclear the real treatment gave by Capcom about Code Veronica. Remember that the rumors published some days ago stated that Capcom is remaking these two titles.
