Nintendo is celebrating the first anniversary of Switch. The hybrid system exceeded the sale expectations forecasted in the core of Nintendo. The strategy projected by the brand on handheld systems is built under the hardware revisions model, but apparently, they are not going to follow that model on Switch.
According to the article published by WSJ, Nintendo won’t commercialize a Switch revision in the near future. The company would focus their business in peripherals to increase sales. Nintendo Lab is a one of those peripherals, but aside from the constructible item, more peripherals could be produced taking advantage of the USB Type-C included on Switch.
Therefore, games like Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3, and peripherals would be the strategy planned by Nintendo to keep at least the wonderful sales harvested in the first year of Switch.
Thanks, WSJ.
