If true, this rumour should come as no surprise to many. Rockstar and Sony have always had an excellent relationship that has involved deals for the marketing of most of their games on the PlayStation ecosystem for a long time now.

And, according to rumours, this could continue to be the case with GTA VI.

According to industry insider MAGG -during the latest episode of the XNC Podcast-, and corroborated by insider RedGamingTech in a recent tweet, Sony may have exclusive marketing rights to GTA VI.

Other rumours suggest that GTA VI will be used to heavily promote the much-rumoured PS5 Pro that should be announced this month (and released at the end of 2024). In our opinion, it’s possible that at some point GTA VI will show off the PS5 Pro’s enhancements, but as of today, we don’t think this situation is going to happen anytime soon. It seems more like speculation. Logical, but speculation. PS5 Pro should be out by the end of the year, while GTA VI has a release window of ‘Fall 2025’. Subject to change, of course.

Be that as it may, if the rumours are true, we will once again see another Rockstar flagship game tied to the PlayStation brand. At least in terms of marketing.

Stay tuned.
