The Division is one of the most anticipated games for this 2014, but maybe I should have said for the next one. Gamereactor has published a rumor provided by a developer source that establishes The Division would not be available this year.

Ubisoft had kept the end of 2014 as the official release for The Division along different events. The source claims The Division is in an early stage of development, therefore, Ubisoft should take its time to complete this project. Officially the Snowdrop Engine, the foundations of The Division, it’s fully completed, but just a few percent of the adventure or game world has been made until now, according to this whistleblower.

The source stated upon The Division:

“The game engine works well, it’s not done but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however,”

“The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It’s a large project, and we have very far to go.”

Ubisoft delayed Watch Dogs and The Crew some months ago, so, it would not be strange if the company will delay The Division too.

Thanks, Gamereactor.
