Rumor: Ubisoft could be considering a pirate game outside the Assassin's Creed series

We cannot get around the fact that including naval warfare and pirates in the Assassin’s Creed series was a complete success. Many fans loved these additions to the saga and Ubisoft wanted to know how much did they like the new features and the new set.

According to IGN, Ubisoft recently sent out a survey to fans asking whether Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag “could have been a whole new franchise (pirate only and not an assassin)“:

The company also sounded out the interest in co-op and multiplayer naval battles in addition to customizable ships, characters, hideouts and additional activities at sea or on land.

Of course, all of this might come to nothing. Ubisoft usually conduct surveys of this kind, but it’s quite interesting to see the emphasis they are putting on the naval battles and pirates.
