Before to unveil the final design of Xbox One, Microsoft delivered some units of Xbox One to developers with a special appearance. In order to avoid leaks, Microsoft creates an algorithm to provide each unit of Xbox One with a unique design.
The result was a case covered with stripes. If anyone would have leaked the Xbox One design beforehand the official presentation, Microsoft would have tracked easily the source.
