Last week, Google unveiled its Android TV platform at the Google I/O conference. The device, similar to Apple TV, Amazon’s Fire TV or PlayStation TV, connects directly to TVs and will provide a streamlined platform for Google to serve up entertainment, including games. Android TV can be built into both TVs and standalone set-top boxes.
Google, however, did not show the Android TV controller. Fortunately, Artem Russakovskii, an attendee at the Google I/O conference, took a photo of it:
According to Russakovskii, “the Android TV box comes with a controller and looks totally hot.”
As of this were not enough, a Reddit user found what appears to be an official render of the controller, said to be found in the Android L Developer Preview build’s directory:
As you will have appreciated, the controller is very similar to the ones we are used to see on Xbox and PlayStation Systems.
The first TVs with built-in Android TV support and will arrive in 2015,along with dedicated set-top devices.
