Since October, it was known that Avalanche Software, the studio behind the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy, had been working on an expansion for the game. Emphasis on had, as it appears Warner Bros. has now decided to cancel the project.

According to Jason Schreier, the expansion was canceled this week, with the reason being that Warner didn’t believe the amount of content planned would justify the price tag. Insider Gaming had previously reported that the expansion was set to include 10–15 hours of new content, priced around $20–30 to purchase it alone. Additionally, Warner was planning to bundle the base game and expansion in a Definitive Edition at full price.

Despite the cancellation, the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy remains in development.
