It’s no surprise that Capcom continues revisiting its classic Resident Evil titles, given the huge success of the RE2, RE3, and RE4 remakes. One of the next in line appears to be Resident Evil 0, originally released on GameCube, which explored the series’ beginnings — a story that will reportedly be slightly altered to better align with Village.

According to MP1ST, the Resident Evil 0 Remake has been in development for several years under the codename “Chamber” (a nod to protagonist Rebecca Chambers). It’s expected to launch after the Code Veronica remake in 2028.

Motion capture and voice work began in 2024, with Beyond Capture Studios collaborating once again with Capcom, following their work on RE4 and Street Fighter VI. Actor Jon McLaren, known for voicing Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy (2021), reportedly plays a lead role, possibly Billy Coen. Narratively, the remake will expand on the original story while keeping its core intact. The train sequence will re-introduce a developed character whose actions influence the protagonists more directly — continuing the trend of Capcom’s recent remakes that refine and deepen existing plotlines.

Thanks, MP1ST.
