I am a big fan of virtual reality. When I tried PlayStation VR with games like Astrobot, Resident Evil 7, or Moss, I saw how the technology could revolutionize gameplay mechanics. However, it seems Sony is now facing significant challenges in this area.

PS VR 2 is technically impressive, but it’s failing in the most critical aspect: the games. Beyond titles like Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village, there are few big releases that drive sales, unlike the original PS VR which sold over 5 million units.

According to a rumor reported by Android Central, Sony is making substantial cuts to its VR budget, with only two games currently in development internally. Given the industry’s current state, even these two games are at risk of being cancelled.

It’s a depressing situation for VR enthusiasts.

Thanks, Android Central.
