That’s right, it looks like we’re close to knowing more about this remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Really close. Some info appeared more than a year ago, but it seems that little by little, we’re getting closer to the end of the matter.

The game would be developed by Virtuos Games and, in particular, a former employee of Virtuos Game Paris, detailed some time ago on Reddit (a post that was, although it was confirmed as real by the admins), that the development team was using Unreal Engine 5. Recall that it was another former Virtuos employee who, years before its announcement by Konami, leaked that they were working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 (now MGS Delta). It seems that ex-employees are a good source of information and leaks…

The original information never clarified whether it would be a remake or a remaster of Oblivion, but the fact that they were using Unreal Engine 5 gives us clues that it could indeed be a remake. Metal Gear Solid Delta is also being developed with UE5.

Finally, it was always said that the game would be released in 2025, and new rumors now suggest that TES IV: Oblivion will be unveiled at a possible Xbox event in January 2025.

Stay tuned!
