Two days ago, Enji Aonuma, director and producer of several installments in The Legend of Zelda series, hinted that the recently announced The Legend of Zelda on Wii U could include some sort of multiplayer component.
While speaking with the guys of GameInformer, Aonuma talked about the multiplayer in the upcoming Dynasty Warriors-based Zelda title Hyrule Warriors:
The two-player functionality of Hyrule Warriors is actually something that has traditionally been done in the Dynasty Warriors series, but they’ve changed because of the hardware and the second screen on your GamePad. Instead of having a splitscreen on the television, you have one-player playing on the television and one on the GamePad.
Then, he teased something more:
When I was talking back about making Zelda more than just a single-player experience? That’s something you will see in the future, maybe next year.
The Legend of Zelda Wii U is coming in 2015, so probably he’s talking about the new game. Unfortunately, we don’t know what Aonuma is exactly referring to, but it sounds pretty interesting.
Would you like to see a multiplayer mode in the next Zelda title for Wii U? Are we going to be able to play as the rumored female Link?
