There is plenty of excitement for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, developed by Saber Interactive and eagle-eyed fans may have noticed several interesting details from the latest gameplay trailer.

If you have not yet watched the trailer, we implore you to watch it as it will really give you a feel as to what you can expect from the game. There are plenty of wishy-washy trailers which do not really represent what the game will be like upon release, but this isn’t one of them.

Whether or not we will see any of the Thousand Sons in the Campaign remains to be seen. It is clear that the main enemy in the game will be the Tyranids. However, we hope that the storyline will lead us to some Chaos enemies at some point.

WHERE WILL THE THOUSAND SONS APPEAR?

In the trailer, we see players battling Thousand Sons enemies in the Operations Co-op mode. According to the trailer, the focus here is on cooperation and replay-ability, so it seems to be the case that this mode will be a long way away from the campaign.

There will also be Chaos Space Marines (Astartes) in the Eternal War versus mode which is the online aspect of the game. As well as the Thousand Sons, it is clear from the trailer that the Death Guard will also feature here too. We might also feature other factions such as the Night Lords, Word Bearers, World Eaters and the Black Legion.

“MORE SURPRISES IN STORE TO BE REVEALED VERY SOON”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9 2024, but the marketing up until then will continue as the game’s publishers, Focus Entertainment will continue to hype up what the game has to offer.

For example, the gameplay trailer did not show any boss fights. For the most part, we just saw the smaller Tyranids with the largest one being the Tyranid Warrior. We expect and hope that we will face numerous monstrosities including the Hive Tyrant. Will we see any of the living Primarchs? That remains to be seen. Fans of the Warhammer universe will certainly hope so.

NEW VIDEO GAMES ARE CONTINUING WITH SINGLE-PLAYER CAMPAIGNS AND GAME REVIEWS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER

For a while the majority of AAA video game developers were focussing their efforts on the online multiplayer aspect of their video games. However, it seems that they realised there was still a huge market for high-quality single-player campaigns which revolved around a campaign.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is just the latest of a long line of recent video games which have focussed primarily on the single-player aspect. This trend began again in 2020 when the number of people playing video games increased dramatically. Interestingly enough, players are now also relying heavily on reviews in order to help them choose whether to spend their money on new games or not.

Upon release, most video games cost a minimum of £60, and for gold editions of games the cost can easily be over £100. Whether it is expert reviews of slot games, or rumors of the latest AAA video game or anything in between, most gamers want to have second, third and even fourth opinions before they depart with their well-earned cash.
