By the beginning of April, Sega filed a trademark for “Shin Chronicle” (although it’s not clear if the first word is“Sin” or “Syn”).
Furthermore, the company also trademarked “Ultimate Showdown” the same day. Now we know that this last trademark is for the recently leaked Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.

On the other hand, Konami filed a trademark for Shin Contra which was a well-known Contra game for PS2 (known as Contra: Shattered Soldier in the west).
