Last Tuesday, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) filed a new trademark in Europe for a game called “The Hungry Horde” in the The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) as a CTM (Community Trade Mark).

The purpose of this new trademark is unclear at this point, but it is possible that it could be related with the called project “Hunger” from Tarsier Studios (the developer behind Little Big Planet Vita). Tarsier signed a first party deal with Sony back in 2010 on an unannounced project. At the Nordic Game Conference 2014, the company confirmed that the project “Hunger” will be a downloadable PlayStation 4 game.

‘Hunger’ is a third-person 3D action adventure game with stealth and exploration elements. A nine-year old girl named Six is kidnapped from her home and taken to work in The Maw – a surreal underwater resort catering to the whims of the powerful elite. When an unexpected twist of fate offers her a chance at freedom, Six takes a journey through the bizarre and unpredictable world of The Maw, and catches a glimpse at the corrupt heart of modern happiness.

The following concept art images belong to the “Hunger” project:

We will have to wait for an announcement. Gamescom may bring some surprises.
