Uncharted remasters for PS4 hinted by Sony boss

Would you like to see the PS3 Uncharted games remastered for PlayStation 4? Well, it seems that Sony is seriously thinking about it.

According to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, many people who purchased a PS4 didn’t own a PS3 and, possibly, they missed games like Uncharted or The Last of Us:

There are requests from some consumers for games that were released later in the generation, like Uncharted, which people might have missed, that would be a good candidate.

Almost 50 per cent of people who have purchased a PS4 didn’t own a PS3, and that’s lots of people that missed exclusive PS3 titles like The Last of Us, so it’s a great way to welcome those people back to PlayStation, saying this is what you missed.

Luckily, Yoshida also speaks with good sense about this remaster policy:

We don’t want to flood the market with remade games either.

We shall see what happens, but personally, I’d love to see (and play) Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 at 1080p@60.

      Is 3D still a thing ?
No one gives a fuck about 3D anymore.

No one besides those of us who know what to buy and how to use it.
I had a few friends that thought that 3D is nothing special. I HAD. Now I don’t. You buy a low persistence monitor with shutter glasses, i5+gtx660 or better, and you play at steady 120fps (60 per eye). For at least 70% of the time, the crosstalk doesn’t interfere, then you can see how cool this technology actually is. There’s just tons of crappy hardware and content, that’s why you’re right – no one gives a f.. about 3D anymore. Sadly.
VR will change that, though 🙂
You need big FOV (you can sit much closer to 3D monitor than 2D, great separation (needs a few days of practice!), not so common knowledge (how to set it up properly, what content is best, what titles are well done). You need a constant 60+fps per eye. And you need low persistence to stop 3D from evaporating during motion, which drops you out of the immersion, forces to recalibrate the eyes when the clear image and 3D returns.
You can’t play a 30fps game, you cannot play on crappy 3D LCD.

It’s bigger difference actually than changing Playstation 2 to 3 or 3 to 4. And when VR gets popular, the crosstalk will be gone. I’ve seen 3D without a crosstalk. There is nothing left to stop you from being amazed, this time regardless of the game or scene, since every scene looks 100% good. I cannot say it is when I watch ma black car in Grid’s 2 garage, with bright wheel rims. The crosstalk is ruining the image. But almost all of the racing time – it’s very good, some tracks perfect.
Go check it out for yourself, if you don’t believe me. This is actually the best you do now. PS4/Xone consoles disappointed, no “wow” effect. If someone needs the wow effect, then he should buy a PC and go 3D. And then wait for VR.
Did I say 3D is good?
