The Assassin’s Creed saga has been undergoing a transformation process for some time now. First, we learned of a return to the origins with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. A product much more focused, less open-world, and much more concrete.
But we also heard news about Assassin’s Creed Infinity: the future of the saga with a live-service hub as the central axis of the franchise.

Well, today we come with rumors about Assassin’s Creed Hexe, one of the future games that will (may) be part of AC Infinity service.

AC Hexe, according to information coming from insider-gaming.com, will be a different product within the IP. We will see changes in many aspects, and also evolutions in mechanics introduced a few titles ago.

First of all, AC Hexe is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and its possible launch scenario is 2026. The game is, now, in an early stage.

The game will be set in the 16th century, within the context of the Holy Roman Empire, witchcraft, and witch hunts. The protagonist, Elsa, appears to have supernatural abilities that she uses to flee or defeat German soldiers who stand in her way.
For example, in exclusive footage seen by insider-gaming, Elsa is shown possessing a cat and then misleading the German soldiers by throwing some bottles on the ground.

The tone of Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be dark and gloomy, as you can imagine. In fact, a Fear System will be implemented again. We already enjoyed this mechanic in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate ‘Jack The Ripper’ DLC and it makes sense due to the witch hunt in which we will be placed. Thousands of women were executed during this long and grim era.

Be that as it may, AC Hexe will be a different proposal within the saga, it could be released on the Infinity service and, apart from that, it seems that it will opt to offer a much more linear single-player experience and, occasionally, with more open-world moments.

We like the sound of the proposal, how about you?

Stay tuned!
