Halo may no longer be Microsoft’s most important franchise, but it remains a giant in the company’s portfolio. For longtime fans, the Master Chief is forever linked to a unique style of gameplay, and the idea of a new adventure in the saga is always exciting. It seems we might not have to wait long for that.
Jason Schreier reports that Microsoft will announce a new Halo release this week in an effort to revive the franchise, as Halo Infinite is apparently considered a failure within the company. Other sources suggest the announcement could happen today, Friday, October 24, during the Halo World Championship, and even claim the game might also come to PS5 — information that Tom Henderson has also corroborated.
The exact nature of the project remains unclear, but some reports indicate it could be a modern reimagining of Halo: Combat Evolved, the very first entry in the legendary series.
