That’s right, Take Two could have a huge surprise in store for the launch of GTA VI.

Some may like it, but we don’t.

According to Polish publication PPE, a very reliable source in recent times (they were the ones that stated that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was going to be released in November for PS5, for example), GTA VI will only be released in digital format. At least at launch. The reason, it seems, is to avoid spoilers before the game’s official release that could be caused by leaked physical copies.

It sounds strange. It’s possible, but it still sounds strange. We tend to think more about the economic motive and the benefit of initially releasing GTA 6 only in digital format.

Regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 in physical format, the media comments that some sources indicate that it could be released 3-4 weeks later, while other sources comment that the release would be in early to mid-2027.

PPE’s sources appear to come from one of the companies that handles video game sales in Europe.
