Ever Crisis, The First Soldier, and Shinra logo trademarked in Japan by Square Enix

Square Enix filed trademarks related to Final Fantasy VII last month. “Ever Crisis” and “The First Soldier” were trademarked in Japan on December 17, 2020, while the Shinra Electric Power Company logo was also trademarked in that country on December 22.

As Gematsu details, these three trademarks seems to be related to FFVII:

1. The “Ever Crisis” title shares a similar name with Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
2. On the other hand, “The First Soldiers” appears to be a reference to Sephirot.
3. And lastly, we all know which organization Shinra is.
