What could we expect about E3 2016? Summary of Rumors & Leaks

We are just some days away from E3 2016 and rumors are floating on the air. Some rumors and leaks have been officially confirmed by companies prior to the expo celebration, but first and foremost, E3 2016 could establish a new console model. We would lose the term “generation” to introduce a new model based on periodical hardware revisions.

To reach that scenario, Sony & Microsoft should unveil Neo and Scorpio. Sony has confirmed Neo this morning. Additionally, Neo won’t be at E3 2016. Regarding Scorpio, rumors pointed out that we are not going to see that new piece of hardware at E3 2016. Sony & Micro will present their new upgraded systems in individually events to dedicate quality time to them.

E3 2014 Sony rumors & leaks

Neo/PS4K. A bunch of sources have verified that PS4K specs are real. Summary of Neo specs by IGN:

Games commercialized from September on should support Neo (minimum 1080p res, enhanced visuals,..). Neo could be released this year (October-November) or the next year, rumors are not confidence enough about a concrete release date. Some Neo info here and here.

Spider-Man by Sucker Punch. inFamous developer, Sucker Punch, could be working on a Spiderman exclusive game for PS4. A different source stated Insomniac could be developing the Spiderman game instead of Sucker Punch.

God of War 4. Norse mythology for the new Kratos game directed by Cory Barlog.

Dead Don’t Ride. Sony Bend could be producing a survival open world game set in a post-apocalyptical world overrun with zombies or something like that. For PS4.

Knack 2. The game appeared on a resume portfolio time ago.

Crash Bandicoot. Game hinted by Sony in different places and moments. We were really fired up with this possible comeback, but could be just an add-on for Skylanders:

Siren: Blood Curse. Rated in Korea for PS4.

Western game. Concept arts emerged time ago for an ‘Undisclosed Project for Sony‘. The art was created by an artist linked to Sony London.

Exclusive PS4 JRPG by From Software. Verendus, the same person that hinted Bloodborne, claimed that From Software was working on a JPRG for PS4. Sony would publish it as a first-party title.

E3 2016 Microsoft rumors & leaks

Xbox Scorpio. Xbox One would be greatly improved compared to Scorpio: 5-6 TFLOP of computational power. More than enough to run Oculus Rift hardware in a rumored partnership with the VR provider. Possible release: fall 2017. It’s not clear if Scorpio could be an upgraded Xbox One or a new Xbox system.

Xbox One Slim. Microsoft could unveil a restyled version of One at E3 2016. 30% slimmer than One.

Dead Rising 4. Game was leaked some days ago. Frank West would come back in a reimagined version of Dead Rising 1 with multi-cooperative game up to 4 players. Only on One and Win 10.

Battletoads. RARE and another studio could be co-developing a new Battletoads game.

Forza Horizon 3. The third Horizon title could be set in Australia.

New Age of Empires game. Age of Empires II HD sold more of 3 million units on Steam, therefore, there is space to develop a new game. The genre could be apparently dead, but not for a new Age of Empires game.

Sea of Thieves. RARE would offer a Destiny/The Division game with Sea of Thieves instead of a classic MMO.

Zombie Online Game. Aside from Dead Rising 4, State of Decay 2 could be a thing.

Extra: Gears of War’s General RAAM could smash some skulls in Killer Instinct Season 3.

E3 2016 Nintendo rumors & leaks

The Big N will focus their efforts on The Legend of Zelda U at E3 2016. There won’t be more games exposed and they won’t celebrate any conference, the new Zelda is paramount to Nintendo. Players could delight two long demos of this game.

Zelda U could allow players to choose a male or a female Link. For the first time in the series, The Legend of Zelda U would include voice acting for most of characters, except for Link.

E3 2016 Multiplatform rumors & leaks

New game by Omega Force based on Berserk (rumors about the license are unstable).

“Most brutal musou in history”

Bethesda rumors. This E3 we could see: The Evil Within 2, Prey 2 (rebooted from the Prey 2 developed by Human Head), Wolfenstein: New Order 2, Skyrim: Definitive Edition (a remastered version of Skyrim with mods support and enhanced visuals for One and PS4). And just for the brave, a new Quake game could be on works.

Red Dead Redemption 2. Two evidences: a map and a seedy screen draw the return of Red Dead Redemption.

According the map, Red Dead Redemption 2 would be a prequel.

Resident Evil 7. Rumors about RE7 described an idyllic dream for any classic Resident evil fan: back to the horror roots and blank slate for the series.

Amazing Katamari Damacy. Trademarked in Europe. Not big news for E3, but the license has its fans (me, for example).

Mass Effect: Andromeda. EA should present a playable version of Andromeda at E3. A few details were leaked, the most important one was a jetpack to explore the environments.

Onimusha. Capcom registered Onimusha time ago. High level conversations were held at Capcom to bring Onimusha back. These movements were confirmed by Ono.

Bioshock Collection. This collection has been rated and listed previously, but Take-Two does not make it official yet.
