Timesplitters holds a special place in my gaming memories. As a fan of Goldeneye 007, Timesplitters captures the essence of that game developed by RARE with a more psychedelic twist. Nowadays, there are plenty of shooters available, but nothing quite like it.

Unfortunately, a remake of Timesplitters 2 was in the works but was ultimately canceled in 2023 as part of the studio restructuring within the Embracer Group (due to poor management). Free Radical, the developers behind Timesplitters, were forced to close their doors, resulting in the cancellation of the Timesplitters 2 remake.

However, there is some consolation as a developer involved in the project has shared gameplay footage of the Timesplitters 2 remake:

I don’t mean to be critical, but the remake seems to give off more Fortnite vibes than Timesplitters. It’s important to note that this footage represents a work in progress and not the final product.
