(…) So we’re excited to do more with interactive entertainment.
This sentence was told by a Netflix spokesperson to Polygon just a few days ago, so we can believe the rumor: Netflix wants to get into video games, according to a report by The Information.
The source of this info states that Netflix is seeking an executive to help them expand into the video game market. Apparently, they have already spoken to “veteran game industry executives“.
The article reports that Netflix could be considering a bundle similar to Apple Arcade: a monthly subscription that would allow players to play games included in that bundle.
In the past, the company outsourced the development of the Stanger Things video game, but it seems that the intention now is to be more aggressive since they already reported in 2019 that its biggest competition was actually Fortnite.
Stay tuned.
