Once again, we have interesting news about PlayStation from an authoritative source such as Tom Henderson.

Tom Henderson/Insider Gaming, who already revealed a lot of information about PS5 Pro, PS Portal, and even the PS5 Slim models and the introduction of the detachable optical drive for these latest models, is back with information directly concerning PS6.

According to Henderson, reliable but anonymous sources at Sony assure that PS6 will be launched with a detachable optical drive. Just as is the case today with PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro. The disc drive will be there in the next generation with PS6.

As his sources inform him, Henderson comments that Sony’s decision in this regard is very firm, given that the detachable optical drive for PS5 has met all of Sony’s internal expectations.

He also comments that the PS6 design will be simpler and more straightforward than that of the PS5, which makes us eager to see the final product, years from now, to see if it continues to have a distinct personality or if they decide to go in a different direction.

Be that as it may, the PS6 is still years away from being released, but this news is welcome for all of us who still like the physical format.
