More Switch 2 rumors! The successor to the Nintendo Switch has been the talk of the town lately.
After the news a few days ago about Switch 2 being backward compatible and running FFVIIR at the level (supposedly) of a PS5, today we get more news about its power.
VGC claims that Nintendo showed demos of Switch 2 at Gamescom in August. One of them was Breath of the Wild running at better resolution and higher framerate on Nintendo’s new console.
On the other hand, the news is more surprising, VGC’s sources claim that Switch 2 was running the infamous The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. Yes, the same one we’ve seen so many times on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Switch 2 is expected to be powerful, but nowhere near the power of PS5 and Xbox X Series, and the “trick” would be that the Matrix demo, while still running really well –even with ray tracing– would be using the famous upscaling that Nvidia provides with its DLSS technology.
One advantage of the Unreal Engine 5 is its scalability, and upscaling could undoubtedly help the Switch’s successor to run UE5 more than well.
Stay tuned!
