As a long-time Quake fan, the latest move by ZeniMax — the parent company of id Software — could be a very promising sign.
The company has filed a new trademark under the Quake brand, and the key detail here is that this is not a renewal of an existing trademark, but a completely new filing. That could potentially hint at a new Quake project in development.

Quake has always been a fascinating series: the first game leaned heavily into gothic horror, the second shifted toward sci-fi action, while Quake III went all-in on multiplayer, and Quake IV brought things back down to a more grounded experience.
Unlike DOOM, Quake has traditionally played more with verticality, although the modern DOOM reboot borrowed plenty of ideas from id Software’s other iconic franchise.
We’ll see where this leads.
Thanks, WCCFtech.
