MarkMonitor is a company used by Microsoft to register domain names. On May 30, MM registered Halo-SpartanAssault.com (and .net), HaloSpartanAssault.com (and .net), and SpartanAssault.net.
‘Halo: Spartan Assault’ is the title of a piece of fan fiction written in 2009 and, perhaps, this movement could only be to protect the brand identity.
Last week we talked about ‘Halo: Bootcamp’ (for PC?) appearing on the Korean Rating Board and now we have these ‘Halo: Spartan Assault’ domains. Maybe Microsoft is going to show more than one game of the Halo franchise at E3.
Stay tuned.
Thanks, GameInformer.
