At the end of March, Square Enix filed a trademark for Tactics Ogre: Reborn, which raised rumors of the Ogre Battle series coming back to life.
The Ogre Battle series last launched in 2001 with the video game Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis for Game Boy Advance. Subsequently, Ogre Battle: Let Us Cling Together was remastered and released for PSP in 2010.
Matsuno (FFXII, Vagrant Story) is the creator and director of the games in this series. Lately, he has been working with Square Enix on products such as FFXIV, so it is not unreasonable to think that he is still active within the company.
By the way, Tactics Ogre Remaster was one of the titles featured in the huge nVidia Geforce Now leak we published in September 2021.
Little by little the games on this huge list have been announced (God of War PC; Alan Wake Remaster, Chrono Cross Remaster, Crysis 4, Kingdom Hearts IV), and there are many more “waiting”, such as Final Fantasy IX Remake, Bioshock 2022 or Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Stay tuned!
